Electrical services

Alongside the software, Flowenergi takes on electrical work locally, carried out to BS 7671 and the Building Regulations. It's also how iVamp stays grounded in real installations.

EV charger installation

Charge when you plug in, on a schedule, or only from surplus solar so you're not exporting electricity you could be using. On an off-peak tariff, charging at home can cost far less than public charge points.

Before fitting, we'll look at:

  • Your supply: the cut-out fuse rating, the existing load and the earthing arrangement
  • Where the charger goes, the cable route and the protection it needs
  • Load management, if the house can't take a full-power charger at the same time as everything else
  • The charger's network connection - often the part that makes or breaks an install

Every installation is tested and certified with an Electrical Installation Certificate, and set up and shown working before we leave.

EV charger inspection & testing

Like any electrical installation, charge points deteriorate through wear, damage, weather and corrosion. Where chargers are used at work, the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require them to be maintained so they're safe.

We carry out periodic inspection and testing to BS 7671 and IET Guidance Note 3, with calibrated test equipment, and give you an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) with any observations and what to do about them.

Energy monitor fitting

A Shelly energy meter fitted on a DIN rail in or beside your consumer unit, with a current clamp on the meter tails or on individual circuits, set up with iVamp on your phone, tablet or computer. You'll see what the house is using and what it's costing, live, without an extra cloud account.

Adding solar or a battery later? The same meter keeps working alongside it.
