About Flowenergi

An electrician who writes the software.

Flowenergi is a small business in the New Forest, run by Ben Cox. It makes iVamp, energy monitoring software for homes and installers, and carries out electrical work locally.

Why both?

Solar, batteries, EV chargers and heat pumps are now as much about networks, apps and data as about cable and protection. Most monitoring software is written by people who've never had to find a dropped Modbus connection from a loft hatch, and most electricians don't have time to write their own tools.

Ben has spent over twenty years building bespoke software, networks and monitoring systems through his IT consultancy, and designs, installs and tests electrical systems, including solar PV, battery and EV charger installations. iVamp is the result: software that reads the kit the way an installer would, and shows it the way a customer understands it.

How we work

  • Electrical work to BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), the Building Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Testing and inspection following IET Guidance Note 3
  • Software that's local-first, reads inverters and batteries without changing them, and keeps customer data on the customer's network
  • Plain English: you'll know what was done and why
